Ohi there!

I have touchOSC installed on my iphone 3gs, and my PC runs Pure Data and MIDI-OX. I have tried several versions of the programs, but non of the works. When i load up the ''simple midi''-file in Pure Data, it keeps repeting ‘‘couldn’t create’‘. I will add a link to a screenshot to illustrate the problem.

A person at the TouchOSC forums could tell me the following:

it looks like you miss libraries from puredata. “couldn’t create” means either it cannot find the function or that the function cannot be used (e.g. if there is a conflict. it would be the case if [dumpOSC 8000] only was in red : it would mean the 8000 port is used elesewhere. but the fact OSCroute also is red means the probleme is elsewhere).

try re-installing the last puredata extended version.

you’d better ask on puredata forums since it’s related to puredata only. and these forums have a nice community.

it doesn't look like you actually have extended installed properly.

if you have other/older versions of pd installed, it will help if you delete them first, as you might have a conflicting startup file somewhere. for whatever reason though, your extended libraries aren't loading.

I tried to remove the current version of PD, and installed from the web-page u gave me. Same result

There might be a preferences problem. Deleting older version of Pd doesn't necessarily get rid of the preferences file, so it might be trying to use the wrong one. Check this link to find out how to get rid of the preferences file, then reinstall:

Alternatively, you can add an [import oscx] object to the patch, save, and reload. [import] will load individual libraries when it is instantiated.
