ha ha, don't think i've ever seen that in pd. although, i haven't kept up with many of the new externals (or even many of the old ones for that matter)

i think if you want to make an abstraction that will do it, then you need some way of finding the last non-zero decimal in whatever float you input. i don't know if there's a simple way to do that either.

Yes, it may also need to be able to find the last non-repeating decimal in order to deal with repeating decimals. I wonder if this can be achieved with any math objects currently in Pd?
