I've replaced the harddrive from my laptop because the previous one was kinda falling appart. I've reinstalled windows xp and the drivers for my motu, but now pd is really having problems. When I select the motu asio drivers there's no sound at all anymore, when I use the Motu Analog drivers there is but cpu usage is going through the roof. Where i could easily open 7 or 8 patches before i've now reached the limit after 1 or 2 and latency has never been so bad.

The only things that have changed with the new install is that i went from a 7200rpm drive to a 5400rpm and that I've installed winxp SP3 instead of SP2.

Does someone recognize some of these issues?

I've solved the problems. There were 2 of them:

1. I went back to winxp sp2 and i got access back to the asio drivers
2. This one is really a strange one: with the switch of harddrive i also bought a universal powersupply, because the original one had had it's time. Now apparently my laptop noticed this and switched back to some kind of safety power mode. Upon disconnecting the powersupply, cpu (with some open patches) went from 60% to 20%.

How comes i really don't like computers...
