Hi everybody.
I've been looking up in the forum, but couldn't find anyone who's having my same problem:
I simply don't have any sound from Pure Data running on linnux 8.10

I was following this very simple tutorial
http://www.pd-tutorial.com/english/ch02.html#chapt2.1.1

and couldn't hear anything.

can anybody drive me to some driver / packet download?

Are you sure you turned the audio computation on? If you do, and do not get any sound, then please look at the main Pd window. The last line must be an error related to audio. You can try different settings by going to Media -> Audio Settings... and choosing between the different audio devices available to you.
