i've created a new patch. the idea was, to save the values of several faders into two preset banks you can morph between with a kind of crossfader.
in the example i feeded the 8 faders into an eq, a sturator, a phaser, a bitcrusher, a samplerate decimator and grain effect.
but you can use the engine however you want to.

mhh, that's strange....... no problem on my machine, maybe i changed something inbetween!?
i made a subpatch for every faders values for the presets for the left (a) and the right (b) side. these values get saved in 2 arrays (graphs are hidden... look for [graph] in the subpatches) for every fader.
so for example $0_b_1 is the array for the right presets for fader 1.
but i don't know, why there should be multiplied $0 counts!?
check the attachment of this post, works with no problem on my machine.....
and the volume.... well, i used too much saturation with too high values, i didn't care much about the fx because i put them - more or less - for demonstration purposes into morphine. the main thing should be the morphing idea.
i adjusted some values a bit, but i guess you will may change some things though!?

Hi toxonic, your subpatch works perfectly. I just got this but without any consequences :

I made some changes for the volume and several presets. I combine yours with some bassdrum generative patch, noisy and dusty sounds are produced exactly as I like them

yes, the division by zero issue in the [expr] is something, i still couldn't figure out, since i also receive this message, when there are only divisions by constants (non-zero of course..).
the filter thing is a message relative to the [biquad~]
filters, but as you said, i also din't recognize any consequences, that's why i didn't care much about that!
if you use mophine as an abstraction you should think of, that presets won't be saved unless you save it within the abstraction itself. but you could also just copy morphines "guts" into a simple subpatch to avoid that, in case you only use one copy inside one patch.

i hope this isn't an innapropriate question, but could you point me towards some info on how to make a gui without all the mess? connecting lines and such? yours is really nice,

hehe, i know, some weeks ago, i asked myself how to do that:
it's quite easy, the "graph on parent" option for canvases does the the trick! i build an instrument from the very beginning inside a subpatch, then right-click on the empty background and choose properties. there you can edit the properties of your subpatch. choose "graph on parent". by default the x size is set to 85, y size is set to 60 px, a red frame with 85x60 px will appear on the background of your subpatch. when you go back to your main patch , you will see that your subpatch is now a 85x60 px frame. back inside your subpatch you can place all your gui elements like faders, visual bangs, toggles and background canvases inside the red frame, in the main patch the cables, objects and message boxes wont be displayed.

GUI objects also have built-in sends and receives. Right click or Ctrl+click to get the properties, and you can set a send and receive name for the object. Just another option, really. I actually think the GOP approach is better. That way you can connect a GUI object to actual [send] and [receive] objects outside of the window. Doing that just makes your patches easier to debug or reverse engineer.

I worked a little from your patch, toxonic, and I made something specific for my needs. I hope you guys would appreciate it and if you find answers to bugs you'll find in it, you're welcome. The main patch to open is _MORPHINE_METHADONE.pd
I noticed two problems but still don't find the issue.

1. As i'm recording a session, sometimes, the recording is stopped without reason.
2. The record volume is really too high, however I put a *~ object to reduce the input~ level
