Just recorded this yesterday, thought this was as good a place as any to get some opinions
Opinions much appreciated.
Also if anyone wants to see the patch, I'd be happy to oblige.

This is excellent! I love how it doesn't get boring for the entire five minutes, because you keep introducing new variations (visually and musically).
yeah the visuals dance really well. love the last minute or so where the background kaliedescope really boogies along with those flying disks.
if i could suggest anything, then i think you could have even more changes in there on the end of each musical phrase. there are still a few spots where the music changes noticably, but the visual stays the same. i think you'd want to make it subtle though....because the piece has a really good flow and you don't want to wreck that too much.
you could even do stuff like, at the start of a new phrase when the music has changed, just increase the size of all the disks to about 400% for one beat, and then return them to normal size for the rest of the phrase.
Thanks for all the feedback guys, I will definitely look into some of the suggestions.
What's up with the alpha object in a Gem chain, I have never used it but I think it might do me some good at times.
Also, here is a higher quality version if any of you are interested

i ran into this video i little while ago while browsing youtube for pd stuff. i'd love to see the patch if you could send it to me. bbakersmith@gmail.com.
in regards to [alpha], it allows pd to recognize and take into account the alpha layer of objects. for example, if you have a .tiff image with an embedded alpha layer then when you load it the particles that are supposed to be transparent will appear transparent. if the [alpha] object isn't in the render chain then pd will ignore the alpha layer of all objects or images.
thus, if you want to use any other alpha related pd objects you need throw [alpha] into the chain in order to see their effects.
(that's my understanding, correct me if i'm wrong people)
Thanks for clearing up that alpha thing for me. Sent you the patch from ebogunia@indiana.edu. Have fun trying to figure anything out. It's a complete mess.

Paul
Paul,
I am going to IU Bloomington right now, doing all types of cool stuff with other pd'ers (and some max/msp people).
I do most of my music in Logic and Ableton and use Pd to interpret the udio data and control GEM. The patch is attached, let me know if you have any questions.
