attaching a waveshaper i made after reading the documentation of the kurzweil k2000 synth. it makes very good squelchy sounds, and can really boost a synth so it stands out in the mix.

attached to this post is a wobbly bass synth which uses this waveshaper.
it is a simple demonstration, so to make it useful you'd have to add your own adsr envelope generators, pitch inputs, etc....but that shouldn't be too hard.
edit.. this will output sub-bass, so watch your speakers.

sorry for bumping the thread - but this is awesome, makes some beautiful sound. seems to be the right weapon to make a nice reese synth. *GG*

i had that issue too, but fixed it with expr~.

Funny I was just trying harder to understand waveshaping - the 'wobbly-bass' patch is great!
Thanx to toxonic to bump the thread, it would have been a shame to miss it.

if you want more examples of waveshaping in action, almost everything brian eno did in the 90's involves kurzweil waveshaping effects.

In the attached ZIP you will find a version of shaper with the ~>, ~<, and ~== issues resolved.
And second, a version of wobbly-bass that implements shaper as an abstraction.
Extract both files into your PD folder, open wobbly-bass, enable compute audio and hit the toggle in the upper left hand corner to turn on/off.
