attaching a waveshaper i made after reading the documentation of the kurzweil k2000 synth. it makes very good squelchy sounds, and can really boost a synth so it stands out in the mix.

attached to this post is a wobbly bass synth which uses this waveshaper. it is a simple demonstration, so to make it useful you'd have to add your own adsr envelope generators, pitch inputs, etc....but that shouldn't be too hard. edit.. this will output sub-bass, so watch your speakers.

Funny I was just trying harder to understand waveshaping - the 'wobbly-bass' patch is great! Thanx to toxonic to bump the thread, it would have been a shame to miss it. Macbook Pro OS X.9 | Metric Halo | Sound + Visuals | on Borneo :: http://www.mata-telinga.net

if you want more examples of waveshaping in action, almost everything brian eno did in the 90's involves kurzweil waveshaping effects.

In the attached ZIP you will find a version of shaper with the ~>, ~<, and ~== issues resolved. And second, a version of wobbly-bass that implements shaper as an abstraction. Extract both files into your PD folder, open wobbly-bass, enable compute audio and hit the toggle in the upper left hand corner to turn on/off. Thanks to the original authors! http://www.pdpatchrepo.info/hurleur/Wobbly-bassANDshaper.zip
