I'm trying to do an envelope! I used max/msp and to do an envelope I sent (to the object LINE~) a message box like this "1, 0.5 1000 0.2 2000 0.1 3000 0 4000", for example. With puredata it's not the same. How can I solve this question?

use [vline~]

it has a 3rd message for 'offset'

so.. "1, 0.5 1000 0.2 2000 0.1 3000 0 4000"

becomes:

[1, 0.5 1000, 0.2 2000 1000, 0.1 3000 3000, 0 4000 6000(

[vline~]

to explain that further:

[1, 0.5 1000, 0.2 2000 1000, 0.1 3000 3000, 0 4000 6000(

this sends a value of 1 immediately, then goes to 0.5 in 1000ms.

the third message is '0.2 2000 1000' so what happens is that vline~ waits 1000ms (3rd message) and then goes to 0.2 in 2000ms

the fourth message is '0.1 3000 3000' ..so it waits 3000ms from the initial bang (1000ms + 2000ms) and then lines to 0.1 in 3000ms

it is obviously not as easy as the msp way.

I tried it out and it worked!
