I've been putting different waveshaping logic in multiple subpatches, then using switch~ to activate dsp on only the one that is selected. This seems to have worked really well for me! sometimes i use it without anything between the inlet~ and outlet~ in order to route a signal to one of multiple destinations.

a more sophisticated approach might have a second subpatch inside each subpatch that fades out and in the signal over 10 ms or so when the selection changes. for my taste that is a little over the top.
