I want to have a hip or lop with that resonance parameter
I already tried with a bp~ and a vcf~ but it does not really give the same effect
thanks
How to create that effect - filter with resonance parameter

@phil123456 Hi, strange you say it's not the same effect because [vcf~] is a resonant filter. In vanilla you can try [bob~] which has a different character and does self-oscillation.
@phil123456 what do you use? [bob~] works in Purr Data too, whereas in extended is called [moog~].
@weightless oh, ok I thought vanilla was the extended one, I'll check it out
thx
@phil123456 in your test patch, try "Q" values of 10 or over, sweeping the frequency gives a similar effect to the video. Right now the slider is set to go from 0 to 0.1 and is not enough to notice the resonant effect.
before, I tried many values
but it sounds more like a duck than a resonant pot that should saturate at high frequencies
@phil123456 I see, then probably [bob~] or [moog~] should sound closer to what you're after as past a certain point they start to self oscillate. I don't know of any other resonant filters/externals for that but to me that sounds pretty decent.
Also try [svf~] from Cyclone. This is a low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and all-pass filter all in one, with resonance and cutoff both controllable in signal and control level.
There are also a lot of filters available in the iemlib library.
There's a moog~ in ggee that sounds pretty nice to me
How about this test with the [vcf~] ? It sounds close to me but maybe you are hearing something else.
**edit ** updated with [vcf~] <--> [moog~] low freq cutoff comparison. Try vcf~ with only the right outlet as well.
thanks
in the mean time I finaly went with vcf
