Whats generally considered the best technique for smoothing clicks on looping [tabread4~]?

I've been using a vline~ of late but its seems a clunky way of doing things.
e.g

[vline~]

$1 is the metro time - (ramp time * 2)

Us the phasor driving the tabread4~ to create an amplitude envelope:

[clip~ 0 0.1]

[*~ 10]

Yeah, a vline~ would work. I'm using the phasor idea because it increments from zero to one, which is handy for the cos~. Also, you only have to worry about scaling it for sample length once. I'll attach an example.

I was looking at the graph and it appears that the envelope is not symmetrical...the attack has a nice cos ramp but the decay is an abrupt 1 to 0.

Phasor~ input has a nice symetric envelope but vline~ gives the above result. Any ideas on how to remedy this?

the plot thickens....Retriggering vline~ using a looped [delay] as opposed to [metro] gives the same graph as phasor~ (does this make sense?)

What is going on?? :-/

I'm new to this and not exactly sure what you need, but thought I'd throw this out there - If you need a decreasing line for the decay side of an envelope, you might try triggering a second phasor that goes from 1 to 0 (by subtracting an unscaled phasor from 1) to start when you need it to.

The above method works a treat and is very reliable. I had tried the enveloping example from the Pd browser, but if you dont need variable attack/decay then this solution is very elegant
