Here is yet another drum machine. A bit different to normal and inspired somewhat by the @LiamG post 'looking for good drum synths' reference to Elastic Drums.
While this offering has no where near the same quality or ability, it does make some quite interesting sounds. There is an overview.pd patch that explains a bit more and has some usage instructions (and here overview.txt ).

Requires pd-extended, or vanilla with cyclone/tanh~, motex/pan~, cyclone/mousestate and iemlib/splitfilename

Warning! It is important to use the 'quit button' or minimise the patch and quit pd when closing or puredata will appear to hang, requiring a force close.

Oh wow, I can't wait to try this! Looks beautiful from the screenshot. I see your data structure sliders at work as well...

This is really impressive @Balwyn--just poking around the presets and it sounds really good. I don't understand how to use it fully yet, but I can already tell it will be useful.

I'm trying to understand the patch itself a bit. Am I right that basically all of the the audio working (minus delay and panning takes place inside [any-drum]?

The hanging on close is a bit of a pain though. Any idea what is causing it? As a hackish solution, you might try putting [closebang]--[menuclose( to force quit.

Yes, all the audio is from the [any-drum] patch, simple but effective. each parameter is set at each sequence step by reading the $0-file-array at an index plus an offset (eg +96 for velocity plus 32 index points) so as the sequence advances each parameter of [any-drum] is changed.

If you are looking in drum-power.pd there is a gui-bang just below the [route] pointing to a [quit( message this will close the patch and quit pd (minimising the patch and closing pd also works if no changes have been made). I assume the hanging has to do with cleaning up the struct data while mouse messages are happening, but I'm not sure.
I didn't know about [closebang] I think that might help. Thanks for that.

I also uploaded a drum machine 2 years ago when I first made [any-drum] the title of the post is 'a-drum-kit' I need to fix the speed control, its not in bpm.

I had a difficult time making it work from vanilla 0.47.1 on ubuntu 16.04 :

you need the zexy from extended not the latest one available via deken, and I had to rename a few objects ( for instance [s2l] wasn't found I had to replace every instance by [symbol2list] which is the same, I also had to rename some stuff like [pan~] by [motex/pan~] ) not sure why though as the libs were installed via deken and added to my startup path.

Sorry for the Ubuntu difficulty, I also has problems with ubuntu studio after upgrading to 16.04 and did something similar but lost track of what I did. I was pretty miffed to find pd-extended gone for good and the ati radeon drivers also gone. It seems 0.47.1 is not using the deken pd-externals but the remnants of pd-extended in usr/lib/pd/extra so I think its time for a clean system install. And time to start using vanilla + deken on my windows 10 machine which I mostly use.
