I'm not gonna lie, I'm fairly proud of how the resulting snare sounds (Can be heard right at the beginning). It was a happy accident resulting from a bunch of experiments.

OK, some light observations while destroying your snares...

In snare_experiment.pd, you don't need message and line. You can connect metro straightforwardly to tabplay~. This is because, when tabplay~ receives a bang, it plays through the whole table....no need for anything extra.

In snare_experiment2.pd, you might want to let metro bang a [0( or a [0.25(. And this, in turn, be connected to phasor's phase inlet. In this way, you can get a repetitive sound...if that is what you wanted, of course.

Since you've shared some patches I'm also in the mood for sharing a simple tip: while synthesizing percussion, use some low level reverb. This allows you to listen to any excessive noise or artifact. (It's also a good idea to have a couple of snare drum sound files, somewhere, ready to remind us what our target sound really sounds like).

Have a nice day What!

All the YouTube changes, I never know what's happening.

The patches are a total mess, looking at them again. Thanks for the input! For snares and hats, I like to leave out the [0.25(, I feel it gives it a small amount of what I guess you could call humanisation.

About the humanisation thing...I've been thinking about that in the last couple of days...if you use a simple counter, you can reset the phase every 2, 3, 4, n beats (whatever). In this way, you can have some variety and not a rigid human vs non-human framework.

About the pants, just try it. It can't be done!
