<![CDATA[films play at wrong speed (pd/GEM)]]>Hello,

I've built a very simple video player in pd using GEM. Just the standard player with a gemwin object and the gemhead pix_film pic_texture chain. The movies play, but at the wrong speed. I've just exported a movie from my video editor with 24 frames per second. I know the the default argument in the gemwin object is 20, but whatever number I give as an argument, it never matches the actual speed of the video.
I have an auto $1 message as an input the the left input of pix_film, so everything should work, at least according to several tutorials I have consulted, but actually films play more or less at double speed (or more) when I just try to play them by toggling auto $1.
What am I doing wrong?

Had a look at your patch, seems to work fine for me. What are the codec details of the video you are using? From my experience H.264 seems to work the best. I have had framerate issues in the past when putting too much strain on the CPU, but judging by that patch this probably isn't the problem.

I can't explain why this happens.
I'm running the patch on OS X 10.9.4

I'm on OSX 10.8.5 without issues, have you encountered this issue before when using GEM?
This isn't an ideal solution but without knowing more it is the best I can think of - perhaps try higher framerates to account for the lag (if the lag isn't drastic) or setup a counter to regulate the framerate manually.
If you uploaded a video and any other source files I would be happy to have a look.
