Hi everyone, having some problems with Pd extended starting up

was using an older version of Pd until today, installed Pd extended at a friends and it was working fine, made some patches etc..turned off my laptop to save battery and now when I turn it back on Pd bounces in the dock and then wont open

from what i've read online it might be something to do with the host files on my mac (just from reading forums where other people have had this issue)

apart from Pd and other music related software i'm not very computer-savvy so was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers on why this might be happening (host files or not), and how to sort it out?

any help would be much appreciated as I've been working on a university assignment for June 4th and would really help to get it back up and running asap
