Pd-extended taking over audio

I'd love to know if someone had this problem and find a fix:

Im using ubuntu studio 12.04 (with QjackCtl) and eveytime i start pd-extended (but not puredata) all other audio stops. it looks like pd takes over the whole audio. playing around with jack didnt much help

Does anyone had this thing?

I am having the same problem, It even stops other audio using Jack. Using Alsa Sink does not help either.

edit: vanilla Pure Data does not suffer from this.
I am using Ubuntu 14.04

I find that the following steps usually solve this problem:

open a patch
close it
open it again
turn DSP off and on again.

This has worked reliably well for me on a variety of Ubuntu and PD releases.

i tried, but it says always:
ALSA output error (snd_pcm_open): Device or resource busy

pulseaudio causes this problem?
