Hello everyone!

As a disclaimer, I am very new to Pd. I am using it to take input from my laptop's keyboard and outputting through MIDI to Garageband. In the project attached, the note duration is a fixed rate (1000). How can I make the note last only as long as I hold a key on my keyboard?

You should be able to do what you need by hacking Gromit's patch in this thread:

I wonder if it would be possible to make a [keydown] external that fired a single bang regardless of OS or how long the key was held down...

If i remember correct, my choice was to disable keyrepetition in the OS. Plus I made this thing that it only reacts if CAPSLOCK is pressed.
(hope that still works, didn´t test now)
