I installed PD as instructed on an Intel Macbook Pro.

I have X11 updated, and have set preferences to defaults.

I have tried other settings than the default.

But, I still cannot create a "bng".

I have attached a screenshot of the canvas and console.

maybe post a screenshot with log level 4 (bottom right of the console). also I would delete your preferences files and try again (e.g. ~/Library/Preferences/org.puredata.... stuff). You shouldn't need X11 to run pd
