I have some question, and maybe someone have jaust posted this, sorry, but i need only some ideas.

1- Is possibile (in linux) connect more mouse and use it like midi knobs, and exlude this mouses from the desktop system ? mouses are very cheap and have rotary encoders and buttons, if i can put two or more mouse and use only for PD....its a way for build a cheap midi knob box.

2- Someone can explain me another things: i have an arduino, but, i'm very noob...i want to use with PD and i read somethings on pduino...i'm confused, using pduino wath i have ? i want to try but before i need to know wath i can do with an arduino/pduino..

On OSX I have used several mice at a time via Hans Christoph Steiner's [hid] object. Unfortunately, I could not capture more than one keyboard separately (wanted to use two numeric keypads), but for mice, yes it works and it's fun.

From within Pd, these mouse events cannot be hidden for other processes. As long as you use only the encoders, not the buttons, this need not be a problem in practical situations.

[hid] works on Linux as well. However, you may have no permission to read data from devices on your Linux (for security reason). In that case you have to set read-permission for all devices that you want to capture via [hid]. I am not on Linux myself, but noticed there is a howto for this:
