It may not be the technical answer that you're looking for but more on real life survival recommendation. :)
If you believe that you can produce the same quality or better in PD as oppose to other guys who uses Max, then convince others or your boss about its advantage. IMO its the final product that matters not the tools that you use. Unless you're the only PD guy among a group of 5 people who uses max. Then it's counter productive. What kind of audio company are you working?
