Naming the folders that contain copies of Automatism will keep your projects separate....... a copy of the complete download should be made with nothing changed inside the folder. Then you open main.pd within that folder to start work. Do not use "save as" from the Pd menu........ only use the "save" button within main.pd.
You can see in your console that main.pd cannot be found. You cannot rename it to Drum Test 1 or anything other than "main"...........as then none of the state saving and links will work.
Thanks very much, David. I'll try again using your guidelines.

Seems odd & not a very user friendly procedure, but I'll give it a go - I really do like Automatonism & Pd.

Since, it's easier to save state of objects in a patch, without textfiles.
If you are interested, I made for my own purposes a fork from original Automatonism project, that saves states inside the main patch (that you can rename with an arbitrary name) . https://github.com/jyg/automatonism-reloaded

Thanks for the message. I have clicked on the included link - but I'm afraid I don't know how to:

Unzip it into your puredata - externals folder.

as suggested in Installation.
Sorry to be so dim - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Sorry, by "puredata - externals folder" , I meant the folder where all extensions objects to puredata are stored. Usually it is :
home/<username>/Documents/Pd/externals

You should uncompress the zip archive there.
However, until I simplify the installation procedure, there is another step to follow . You may have to install another external : iemguts. There is a menu in Pd to do this.
Hope that helps

I am completely amazed by its capabilities in terms of sound design and patching.
It is extremely awesome.
However after a love period I came to face a bug, which is connected to the interference of the kick (for example) and the preset manager's adjustability. Specifically when I parameter a kick pitch and store it in the preset manager, than increasing the value of the pitch and store it again ( in another slot ) there is an immediate change to the previous state of the pitch glider.
Anyone has faced this issue so far?
I tried it on Mac OS - newest with recent PD and PD 0.51-4
Than these PD-s on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS through Virtual Machine on Win 11 pro
And also on Win 11 pro.
So I have this question have you ever faced this issue with Automatonism?
I trully appreciate any kind of help of course.
I am in love with the software without any doubt.

Really seems a bug.
However, kick and some other objects have their own integrated preset system, and should not interact with the preset-manager module.

For your information, I made my own fork of automatonism with new features.
You can directly install a (not so updated) version from pd's "find externals" menu. (just search for "automatonism" in the dialog box).
Still some bugs, but the github repo https://github.com/jyg/automatonism-reloaded is more up to date. My plans are to make a new deken release this summer.
