<![CDATA[Start-up problem]]>Hi All - I have just downloaded a new instance of Pd v.0.51.4 on a 2nd iMac desktop (running Mojave) but I can't seem to access a new main.pd file to work on.

The small Log/Audio on/DSP box is the only thing that appears.

Help please. What am I missing?

Apologies if I'm misunderstanding, but I believe this is normal behavior. Launching Pd by default produces only the console window. From there, Cmd-N would create a new patch window, or Cmd-O would open a patch file from disk.

Yes, 'cmd N' brings up a New File:
New file.Screenshot 2021-05-12 at 10.35.57.PNG

but the file does not have the 2 necessary vital lines of info that the 'main.pd' file has:

or the Modules List:

which normally appear with the 'main.pd' file:

Automatonism does not come with an installation of Pd. What happens if you navigate to the directory of Automatonism and open main.pd manually? ;)

You reminded me that Automatonism is where I was originally working.

It's been several months & I had forgotten.

No wonder I couldn't find my patches - I thought they had been deleted by mistake! I was looking in the wrong place for them.
