<p>I'm sure this must be a noob question, so apologies in advance!</p>
<p>I've noticed that the vcf object attenuates the level of signal when cut-off frequencies are set above 6KHz or so when using it with the low-pass outlet. Is this expected behaviour or am I doing something wrong? Shouldn't the sound become louder when fewer frequencies are cut?</p>

I've also noticed that the cutoff frequency above which there is attenuation is related to the Q factor, even when filtering sine waves many octaves lower.  I've either switched to using [bob~] or just resigned to using a max 5khz cutoff.  Hopefully someone will have more insight into this.</p>
