It's all working fine now. The files were being created in a different folder to the one where the patches are stored, although I am not entirely sure why.

I'm new to pd. I'm running pd extended on Windows.

I am simply trying to create an audio file to record to but when I click on the 'open Example.wav' message nothing happens. If I click the start message in the patch afterwards it says "start requested with no prior 'open'". In the tutorials I've seen a new wav file is created immediately and is ready to record to.

I can open pre-existing audio files and play them so I'm not sure what the problem is.
